Our Journey Has a Destination!

We are so thrilled to share with you that God has called us to serve the people of Cambodia!

Angkor Wat

As many of you know, Nic and I have had a clear calling to overseas mission work, but have not known exactly where the Lord would lead us to do that work.  Over last 5 months we simultaneously became more and more drawn to this little nation in Southeast Asia where Jacelyn first received her calling to become a doctor. Then, it rather suddenly became clear that this was the Lord’s leading! We are so thankful for this next step of guidance, and can’t wait to keep moving forward!

Throw Back: We had the opportunity to visit Cambodia on two occasions in 2005 and 2006. It was after spending an afternoon with a dozen local children following us around the Killing Fields and bandaging a small cut for a little boy that Jacelyn received a moment of crystal clear direction to serve the Lord as a missionary physician.

Check out the pic below! You can hardly recognize these two kids who backpacked in Cambodia for about $15 a day!

Cambodia has remained in our hearts over the years, but it I was only recently that we knew we should return there long term! While visiting, it was the warm and welcoming people of Cambodia that made the biggest impression on us. We were blown away by their cheerfulness. We have never forgotten the two phrases we heard repeatedly during our visit: “Why not?!” and “No problem!”

As in:

Move your entire life to Cambodia? Why not?!

Have a ton of money to raise? No problem!!

So what’s next?

  • Continue fundraising to LEVEL THE LOANS and gather monthly support. More on that in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled!
  • Work on the logistics of obtaining visas. This will be months down the road and we’ll keep you posted! We are blessed to have established several contacts within Cambodia already and we look forward to working with them to see what doors the Lord opens.

Thank you for your support! Please pray with us as we work toward serving the people of Cambodia!

His will be done always,
Nic and Jacelyn

St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!!!!!
